The end of one journey, the beginning of another!
“In 13 years at the Foundation, I have learned a lot and gained a lot of experience. The most memorable memories of my early days are of summer camps, extra lessons to support my learning at school, excursions and museums, but I also remember my interview with the admissions officer, a scene that has stayed with me very vividly. I had to talk about myself in front of a room full of adults, who were strangers to me at the time, and I told them I wanted to be an actress, and everyone smiled kindly. This plan only lasted until high school, and I changed my plans several times after that, but the Foundation always supported me: both in my graphic design studies and in my BA in Community Organising.
The Foundation has given me support in my studies and other areas of life without which I would not be where I am today. I have made lifelong friendships and become part of a community. The all-arts camps allowed me to create with my other peers who were interested in the arts like me, and I participated in these camps as a mentor-assistant. It was then that I discovered how well I got on with the younger people and how exciting it was to work with them. The experience I gained here also contributed to my choice of a specialisation in youth community organisation.
Many thanks to the Foundation for the opportunities and challenges it has given me! They have helped me grow and become who I am today: a determined and confident young person. After completing my studies, I will enter the adult world knowing that I will overcome the difficulties and obstacles that lie ahead and find a way to achieve my goals. For all this, I cannot be thankful enough!
I would like to thank you again for the past 13 years! I wish the Foundation continued success in supporting talented young people! ”
