Bournemouth

The seventh class and the advanced level students are taking their language courses in Bournemouth.

At dawn, sleepy but excited students got on the coach leaving for the airport All of them had been looking forward to the camp. After the flight, which was a great experience, and the „short” bus journey, we arrived in Bournemouth. The host families had already been waiting for us and took the kids home in a very short time. We spent the afternoon getting acquainted with the host families. The intensive language learning will start tomorrow.

The second day in Bournemouth

As this is our first time in Bournemouth with the Foundation, we all were quite excited on our first day at the language school. In order to decide the different levels of the students we had to have a test first.

After this little exercise we went on a coach tour organized by the language school. Our tour guide told us several interesting things about the seaside town. After lunch we had some time to rest before we went on a relaxing walk tour to the sandy beach. As the sun was shining, and the nice weather felt hotter, even the quite cold water turned out to be very pleasant. For most of the group this was the first time to experience how refreshing seawater is on a hot summer day. Being refreshed again after a long day we all went home to tell our host families about our daily experiences.

Third day in Bournemouth

We started our third day with a sightseeing tour in the centre of Bournemouth.

Our guide showed us the Russel Cotes museum then we went on to the Bournemouth Pier.
After the Pier we visited the Oceanarium nearby where we admired  various sea fish, reptiles and amphibians. In the afternoon  we had English lessons in groups where  we could practise the English language. We closed the day on  the beach again and those who were brave enough ventured into the water.

We started our fourth day on the beach where we took part in some beach games and collected beautiful shells and pebbles. After the beach football and volleyball, we sat down at our desks to continue our language learning. Then, everyone went home for dinner and started preparing for the long awaited disco.

Fifth day

After breakfast we hurried to school. Then, we were taken to a huge leasure centre where half of our group went swimming and the rest of us , who did not feel like swimming, played badminton. We ended the morning with an exciting football  match.
Having eaten our lunch, we sat in the classrooms and got ready to start the lessons. The teachers go out of their way to make the lessons interesting. One of the best things is that I have the opportunity to converse with students from different countries. They are really good fun.
A special highlight of the evening in Bournemouth was Martin’s improvised drum performance in the company of two elderly locals.

Int he afternnon we took the bus to the town centre and Bournemouth Pier. The more daring took a ride on the merry-go-round.Although by the evening we got really tired, we  gained a lot of nice experiences.today.
