About the safe use of the internet
“Today I held a lecture for the youngest members of group Szeged 3. The topic was the safe way of using the internet.
During the one-hour-long class I introduced them the short history of the worldwide web, the netiquette, which is about what one should or shouldn’t do on the web, and of course the importance of using appropriate usernames and passwords. We discussed what we could do if a stranger sends a friend request or a message or we get cyberbullied or someone abuses our photos or personal data. I also mentioned the legality of downloading music, movies or even computer games.
The most exciting topic for the young students were, of course, the correct use of social media, such as Facebook or Twitter and their potential threats, because these platforms are the ones they use daily.
A lot of questions were asked and answered regarding all topics and the interest was high from the students. These children enjoyed the lecture, they learned their lessons, which means that they could be more cautious and informed users of the internet.”
