AIESEC Volunteer
Iryna, an AIESEC volunteer arrived to Pécs on 16th October.
We showed her around the community house and put her in the guest room. Iryna was given a map and directions and useful advice about public transport food and shops. We tried our best to make her feel at home. We finalised the programme for next week. She spent a day with Pécs 1 group in Budapest on the Chess Festival. From Monday she will be attending the classes and join in the community house life.
1st day: Hello everyone who reads it. I`ve arrived in Pecs and I want to say that I really like it, although the weather does not please me. It always rains outside, but people from Csányi Alapítvány don`t allow the rain to harm my mood. They always smile.
2nd day: On Saturday we visited Chess Festival in Budapest. It was really impressive thing I’ve ever done. In Ukraine I visited a lot of Rock Festivals and I`ve never heard about Chess Festivals (oops). There were a lot of interesting things to do. For example kids could play different games, collect cards and exchange them for gifts. As it was Chess Festival they could play chess with each other or with Polgar Judit. I experienced a lot of interesting things being in Hungary and I hope to experience more as the days are passing.
3rd day: Today (19th of October) I met several students and spoke to them. I was glad that they are my age and I think it is easier to find common interests).
4-5. day: I love that Foundation so much. Yesterday and today we had English lessons and I met two teachers. They are so different, but equally interesting. We were doing tests, talking about Ukraine and Hungary, singing and always talking and smiling. I`ve found a person who has common interests as I. Sometimes I think that when I graduate from my University I want to work as a teacher and these conversations really help me to improve myself in it.
23rd October – WoW!
It was the best activity I`ve ever done! We played, jumped, climbed through the mazes and had a lot of fun together with children. It was one of my dreams to play in such place! Today I don`t feel my arms and legs, but it worth it! I’m happy that the weather was really nice and we observed the district, where a lot of animals live. I want to go to Katica tanya once again.
28nd October
On the 28th of October I showed presentation about Ukraine for P3 group. I told them about Ukrainian dishes, nice places to visit. Children translated my words for others who study German. They were very lovely and after the presentation they asked me to sing Ukrainian song and I also asked them to sing Hungarian song. I was very pleasant to hear their choir. I also tried to sing. I hope they like it. Also we played the piano and it was very great! I haven`t played the piano for some years and in Pecs I remembered some songs.

Well, today we had interesting tour to Zsolnay district. This place is very quiet and very beautiful in autumn. There we found friendly staff and different exhibitions. After that we went to typical American cafe and celebrated Halloween ^^ It was very strange to eat vegetarian hamburger with warm cucumber. But I`m happy that I spent that day with children.

Oh God. The most difficult day of my being in Pecs. I don`t like that feeling when you use to live somewhere, when you feel that someone loves you and you have to leave that place. I am very thankful about all your love that you gave me, about every happy moment that I felt being here. It means a lot for me! Also I want to say thank you about all your songs and presents that you presented me! They are incredible, like everything that this foundation does. So, I don`t want to say goodbye, I just say see you, because The Earth is round ^^ Love what you do and do what you love, see you in Nagybajom!
