Water analysis at a new location
One of the project groups pf the Jászság Community House has been dealing with water testing for years. 02. 02. is „World Wetlands Day”. Speaking of which, we set of fon Saturday morning from Jászberény to Jászárokszállás, where we could see the water, environment and wildlife of Lake Nádar up close. In the past, we carried out tests in relation tot he Zagyva River, which is a river, and the location of the current sampling is an artificial lake. We were very curious about the differences.
Upon arrival at the site, taking into account the guigelines of theacher Terézia Csörgő, our volunteer, we distributed the tasks. Some were responsible for taking water samples, some measured the pH of the water, and soma took samples for microscopic examinations. Regarding the lake, we found it interesting that 17 fisching landingd were built on it, at the teacher’s request we took water samples at the 1 st, 6th and 13th piers. Between the three sampling points, we found a minimal difference in the pH value of the water (the results obtained were 7.6 and 7.9), For me, the microscopic examination was the most exciting, during which we found algae and dirt.
The chemical tests took place in the Community Hall, under the guidance of teacher Terézia Csörgő. I’m glad we visited this lake, we had a good time even though the weather wasn’t the best. (Regina Kállai, Letícia Domján – Jászság group 4)
