We became sound engineers
“On 12 June we received our certificate and officially became sound technicians. In September 2021, we sat our first classes at the St. George School of Sound and Film Arts with high hopes that what we wanted to learn would be taught to the highest possible standard. And so we did. Our first year was almost a foundation of training to the extent that 90% of the lessons were theoretical instruction, supplemented by some software skills practice. At the end of the first semester, we successfully passed a sectoral exam in several subjects, and then had the opportunity to work off our compulsory practical hours in the summer between the two academic years. Our second year was a very practice-oriented year, where the emphasis was still on theoretical education, but we were able to learn about different branches of the profession, in addition to having the opportunity to go to work with several companies to learn about the diversity of sound engineering in practice. Hundreds of hours spent preparing for the final exam and preparing for the final examination were rewarded with a good result, as we passed with distinction. Our teachers have officially become colleagues, and after the School has given us so many opportunities, everyone has somewhere to go after completing the training. Of course, none of this would have been possible without the Csányi Foundation, which has been a great help in financing our tuition fees and the necessary equipment, so we would like to express our gratitude. ” Balázs Wensofszky, Pécs Group 3 and Martin Móczó, Szeged Group 2
