Narcissus festival
Group 1 from Kaposvár visited a Daffodil festival on Saturday morning. The Narcissus Festival is traditionally held every year in Kaposvár at the former spring and autumn residence of painter József Rippl-Rónai. The place is beautiful, and the thousands of daffodils in bloom make the panorama even more beautiful.
On Saturday morning the sky was still overcast so we were hoping that the rain would not wash the event away, but we were lucky the weather was kind to us and we had a great time among the flowers. First the children did some crafts like clay and painting vases, and then everyone had a chance to try out some folk games. We also ate pancakes made on the spot by “grandmas” from Kaposvár and visited the stalls of the Kaposvár Art School.
Of course, we didn’t miss the villa of József Rippl-Rónai, where the artist’s works are exhibited and the building is furnished with period furniture.
