LFZE Performing Artist Diploma – thank you
After three years, on 25 June 2022, the day came when I received my university degree at a graduation ceremony in the main hall of the Liszt Academy, and officially became a jazz bass guitarist. Although the 6 semesters were made difficult by the pandemic, we could acquire all necessary knowledge; in fact the online education taught me how a musician can thrive in the digital space despite the physical distance, and I realised that this world is very close to me. It also taught me how to turn a seeming disadvantage into an advantage. I chose to study jazz because I believe it offers the most comprehensive education. In addition to jazz, I encountered Hungarian folk music, but also African and Asian music, classical music, and various popular music genres. The high level of music theory and practical training prepared us to face as many musical challenges as possible on an international level. My degree is highly qualified. The Csányi Foundation’s social and intellectual support is a major contributory factor. My sincere thanks to the Foundation and all its staff for making it possible for me to obtain my degree in the amazing environment of K9 and S10. I will try to use the knowledge I have gained at the university to benefit humanity, but also to expand it.
