LIKE FISH IN THE WATER
Alex Pászti, a 7th grade student in the 3rd group in Szeged, spends a lot of time and energy with his favorite pastime, swimming. He arrives at the Community House, whether spring or summer, with a wet head because he goes to workout before the programs. The many efforts have paid off. You can read Alex’s report on the races to be held this weekend.
“A IX. Colonial Cup was held on March 26-27 in Hódmezővásárhely. I started in 4 numbers in the two-day race. I finished 6th in the 100m and 400m fast swim and 9th in the 100m backstroke. I was able to get to the 2nd step of the podium at 800m. Our association was the most successful, so we won the Colonial Cup, which I took over on behalf of our team at the end of the race. I also took part in two races on the first weekend in May. On Friday (05. 06.) The Open Water Junior Selection Competition was held, where I swam 5km. This was the longest distance I have ever completed in 1.03.03. This race was extraordinary because it was held in a pool (the date of the Open Water Junior EC was brought forward) because our lakes are not yet suitable for swimming (too cold). The Backpack Cup was held in Hódmezővásárhely on Saturday and Sunday, where I started in looser numbers (200m breast, 200m back and 50m pille) after 5km. I finished in the top 10 in every race. It was a very tiring weekend, but I was glad I finished 5km in a good time. ”
