Surprise guest
We started a programme in Jászberény, where children can meet interesting people.
We started a programme at the Community Centre in Jászberény, in which we invite a guest once every month. The students can meet people they can admire for their personality, their way of life, their profession or their knowledge.
Our first guest, in March, it was György Szabó, who visited us with his guide dog. This man lost its eyesight in his 20s, and he had to rearrange his life. His view, attitude, sense of humour and persistance helps him and also fuctions like a perfect example in front of everybody.
Children listened to his introduction in silence, and then they could try what is it like to be a blind person with transport, with the help of a white stick and a guide dog. It is proved now that dogs could not only be a person’s best friend but also his or her most important help.
During the talk, children faced that handicapped people are just like the healthy ones…
“But eyes are blind. You have to look with the heart.”
