The second day of our summer camp in Eger
After breakfast we started to our sightseeing trip and went to the centre of the town. We were guided by “Gabi néni” who also guided us yesterday. She is a very clever and friendly person.
Firstly, we visited the second biggest church in Hungary, where we solved a quiz in order to get some further information about the building. After that we spent some time in the main building of the college, where our guide showed us a historical librarary with a breathtaking book collection.
We climed up then a special look-out tower, where we could see almost every sights of Eger, it was really awesome! After having our lunch we visited the sport museum, where we had the opportunity to touch the real Olympic Torch.
In the second half of the day we went to a marzipan museum which was really interesting. We saw different figures made of sugar (e.g. a whole room in barock style). Before going home we visited the ‘Minaret’. The sight was amazing from the top of the building. Our last program was „The town under the town”. It sounds a bit spooky but we enjoyed a lot walking under the ground in a special cellar system created in the 17th century. After lunch we had some free time. It was amazing day! :)))
