Visiting our Friends in Harghita
This Friday was not an ordinary one (May 3). With the intention of establishing a tradition, the youngsters of Harghita and Covasna County, participating in the language competition of our Foundation, were taking an English oral exam. It was a pleasure for us, examiners, to experience the children’s openness, sincerity and positive attitude. There were some who had already set off at dawn to arrive in time for the exam, which was conducted in German and English at A1, A2, B1, B2 levels. The students who came from Csíkdánfalva, Csíkszenttamás, Csíkszereda, Csíkzsögöd, Csíkszépvíz, Székelykeresztúr and Covasna County were tested on several topics (social relations, living environment, eating habits, health, public transport…). Thanks to the excellent collaboration and organizing work of our hosts and local colleagues, the exam went smoothly and we could finish by 8 p.m. The students gave really interesting presentations. Those who could not attain the performance they hoped for, communicated their thoughts honestly and realistically in their assessment regarding the language areas to be developed for the next exam.
There’s a lot at stake since the best performing students in the language competition will be invited to join the Foundation’s foreign language camp to be organized in England and Germany this summer. The results will be published on our website on 15 May the latest. The rest of the students participating in the language competition are welcome to the language camp to be organized in July in Csíksomlyó.
Further details are coming soon 🙂
