We had a nice year in 2013
Around the end of the year, close to Christmas we usually think over the year behind us, what happened with us. This is what I did and I put my thoughts on paper.
Another year passé in the life of the Foundation and just like the other years, this one was not eventless. Recollecting January, the greatest event was the preparation for secondary school entrance exam for 8th grade Csányi students. They did their best to be members of those secondary schools that they chose. Obviously, the coming months had their own excitement as May was on the threshold. Many Csányi students took their secondary school leaving exams and those students attend colleges and universities, getting one step closer to their desired aims, dreams. The other groups also had many good programmes, like cinema, theatre, exhibitions etc. Three new groups with 45th grade students came into the Foundation in Nagybajom, Pécs and Szeged. We greeted the new students with great love and now they are fully integrated into the life of Csányi Foundation. In June, we organised Walk of Life day this year, too. During these three days we met our old friends and we took part in different team building trainings. On the third day we could show our real selves to the guests of the Foundation at the gala show. Then came the summer holiday, which is the busiest period for us, the time of camps. In Sarlóspuszta the youngest students had their first Foundation camp, which I took part in. The older students travelled around in Hungary, in the Carpathian basin and even went to the other side of the English Channel. In Hungary we travelled to Sárospatak, Kőszeg, Eger and Veszprém. The winners of the all-year-around English and German language competition travelled to Brighton and Bournemouth, England and to Augsburg, Germany and they could practice their language skills. We had abroad trips to Délvidék, Slovakia and to Transylvania. Everybody had many good memories from these camps. We have to mention here another great programme of the Foundation, which was brought alive by the Child Parliament and now it has traditions, the football championship. We quarterly organise the championship, which last for two days. In October, as the result of a tender, some of our friends could travel to Brussels where they could enjoy the hospitality Bánki Erik and they could see the daily work and life of the city the European Parliament. The new school year started with full of experiences. We had the chance to take part in debut training by Matthias Corvinus Collegium, share a lot of information with the volunteers of the Fulbright programme. We do hope to have similar programmes in the near future. Now, in the middle of December when we are over the Christmas family days and most of the year, we can say that we are full of memories and experiences and on behalf of the members of the Child Parliament we would like to say thank you for your support and help without which we would not be able to reach our aims in our lives. Child Parliament wish Marry Christmas and Happy New Year to the Founder of the Foundation his family, members of Board of Trustees, management of the Foundation, developmental teachers, mentors and parents.
