Winter delights indoors
Thursday’s (23rd January) main characters were the youngest students of Csányi Foundation in Szeged
During today’s irregular English class, the students learned how to write in Chinese, now they know their Chinese zodiacs and also the most well-known things about China thanks to Julie, our volunteer. We started the day with a short sightseeing trip around Szeged, we visited the most famous places and buildings and the typical Hungarian lángos for breakfast couldn’t have been skipped. Before the class, Julie helped to do the shopping and prepare the sandwiches for the kids than we went to pick up the students from their schools.
Everyone was eager to meet Julie and the kids did not need much encouragement to start talking with her in order to practice their language knowledge. The Chinese quiz gave us new knowledge about China, the Chinese horoscope and about the Chinese New Year, which starts 31st January. 2014 will be an exceptionally good year for those who were born in the Horse sign.
After hard work we went ice-skating with Julie. Many of the students stepped on the ice with fear but after 1.5 hours later everyone left it as a proficient ice-skater. The number of fall-downs were maximised in 10. 🙂
