I will never forget…
This Saturday (1st March), the first Regional Majorette Competition of Jász-Nagykun County was organised, which was attended by many participants from all over the country.
I was really looking forward to this competition because it meant a great challenge for me. I was woken up by the excitement very early in the morning than we headed to Szolnok where I had to do well at a hip-hop training, conducted by Pizsy. After this programme with my parents and my dance teacher, Olgi, we went to the sports stadium. We did my hair and make-up well before the event to have enough time to practice a bit more before standing on the stage. I was really excited because this was my first competition where I had to compete with European champions. At the competition I met many majorettes who I had had the chance to chat only via Facebook before. Before my time, Olgi said some encouraging words and I got into the spotlights. When I started my performance I could still feel the excitement but as I got into dancing more and more my fear evaporated quickly and I felt happiness. I was really proud to be there in front of the jury after only 3 years of practice because those who are enter into single category have 6-7 years of experience in my age group. After a long waiting time, the moment came when the results were announced. The head of my dance school also arrived to support me. There were many contestants so we had to wait to hear my name, but it was not useless. I hardly could believe that I was the winner of the competition and I only realised it when the golden medal was hung on my neck. I can tell you, I’ve never been so happy before and not only me but my teachers were as happy as I was.
I am really thankful for my teachers and of course for my family who were beside me all the time. The next competition will be on the 22nd March where I will dance in many categories.
