Mummies of Egypt
Today group 1 of Szeged went to trace the mummies (14th May).
We went to two museums in Szeged. Both topics were about Egyptian mummies. In the Black House we could see the techniques that were used to mummify dead bodies and we also learned about the Egyptian writing and medication methods. We could see a ten thousand year old original mummy, which was displayed in Szombathely previously. We heard an Egyptian medication method, which was really interesting. We saw a two-thousand year old painted wooden child sarcophagus and it turned out that crocodile, cat, scarabaeus sacer were the sacred animals of the Egyptians but the fish was not.
In the Kass Gallery we visited the exhibition about Egyptian burial and mortuary cults. After visiting the dark Egyptian grave, we went to a nearby hamburger house to talk about the seen things while consuming our afternoon snack.
