Trip to Zselic
“We had autumn holiday and our group went on a trip to Zselic which was connected to Márton-day festival. In the last 48 hours we had a huge amount of great experiences and perfect programs. With our group Kaposvár 2 we visited the Bánya tourist house after the language competition on Saturday. We had a great accommodation and a beautiful landscape. After we arrived there, we had lunch and couldn’t wait to see where we were. There is an old habit over there, which is the following: If someone goes there, they create their own tree in the fields. We did the same. We had a really long trip, we walked a lot and a at last a surprise waited for us: we had to collect envelopes which contained details about Márton day. It was a competition between boys and girls and everyone tried to do their bests. Of course the goal was to win. Mrs. Éva, who knows a lot about Hungarian traditions, told us a story about Márton day as well. On Sunday we had the final competition and the result was equal. We had some free time when we had the chance to create some arts and crafts stuffs. After a perfect morning we had a similarly great evening. We could see an occasion where The Somogy Music Band showed us how to play and then we could dance with them as well. We were dancing a lot so in the end we got really tired. Chakee who is a volunteer from Sri Lanca also tried to learn how to dance the Hungarian folk dance, with us. On Sunday we also had fun. We played a lot of kind of games like hiding and some kind of logical creative games as well. At the end we finished our two-day trip with a long walking like in the beginning. It was fantastic.”
