Wormfarm was built
Last time, we made a wormfarm from the occasion of our nature club meeting at the garden of the Community House.
Worms helps to process, and recyling the selective rubbish in the house, and garden for example, cutted grass, apple-core while they are creating a potting soil rich in humus to make easier the first plantings in spring, on the other hand they means excellent nutrition for fish in our poe.
We also talked about composting, and found on the internet a second hand composting which is made from tires, that is already home of some worms.
We realized this idea in May. First, we examined that part of our garden, where we could build our „farm”. Fortunatelly all of materials can be found in the house which were in need to finish our work. After we compiled the tires we scattered ballast to the lowest level of tires. Afterward we mixed potting soil and wet newspaper with wood chips which grants nutrition for the worms.
After the preparation, we placed the collected worms on these layers. We closed the top of the composting bowl and allowed them to start their „task”.
On the first part of our vocational we examined the worm’s body and their life.
During the preparation of our farm the birdfriend garden gave us many exciting experience. The spring shower made the great titmouse’s nestling unable to fly.
We carried the nestling to the Community House till the end of the storm, and dried it due to everyone’s happiness.
We going to make a small crayfish hatcher and water flea foster poe from the remainder two tires.
