Camp at Őrvidék

Camp at Őrvidék

We were very excited when we arrived to our last camp in Bükfördő Hungest Hotel Repce.

On our first day we nous avons pris nos chambres than the three group had a good time, swimming together in the hotel.

We left a difficult year behind us. Most of the stundent finished their first university year and we found out the points of this year yesterday. Everybody reached their points so we are happy now. We are waiting for the interesting programmes next days.

2. day – 07.28.

Today we had a sightseeing tour in Wien. We could admire different building styles. On on the bus our tour-guide showed us the most important places of Wien. We left the bus in the Anschluss Memorial park and we started our journey. We’ve visited statues of Mária Terézia, Jenö Szavolyai, the Austrian Heroe’s Square and we had a great experience with spanish horse school. In the afternoon we have visited the Prater which is one of the best place in  Wien. End of the day we had a great dinner.

3.day – 07.29.

We had a very eventful day today. After breakfast we visited the Frakno castle and checked all of the Eszterházy family’s remained heritages, gun collections and imagined the life of the 17th century. We were amazed by the family’s lifestories, they seemed to be very kind and rich people to us who were always loyal to the Habsburg Emperor. After that we went to Eisenstadt and bought ice cream, took a rest before the visitation to the second castle. We had the chance to check the wine museum under the castle which was full of glasses and barrels from the previous centuries. The castle was the summer residence of the Eszterházy family, full of original furnitures, tools, equipments, frescos and paintings. My best experience was the fact that the family was proud of their Hungarian origin and we could learn many things from Austrian-Hungarian history.

4. day – 07.30. Saturday at Szalafő

Saturday was the first day we didn’t cross the border to Austria. Instead, we visited Pityeszer, a village museum located near Szalafő. There we saw century-old dwellings with a rich history of cuisine, work and family life. It was really amazing to see how different life was back then. After that and a lunch, we returned to the hotel, where the adventure bath gave us shelter from the weather, while others took a walk around the complex. In contrast, we spent the night to relax and prepare for tomorrow, as we’re set to see Vienna again.

5.day – 07.31.

We left early in the morning (as usual) to visit the famous Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna. The former summer residence of the Austrian emperors attracted lots of tourists from around the globe. We got phone-like devices to listen to the story of the palace and its inhabitants, as well as to learn more about the different ways the rooms were furnitured and decorated. After the walk inside the building, we continued outside, in the maze of the palace park. Obviously, our time was too short to discover it all, so we got instead our lunch packs and left for another pair of famous buildings in the city: the Hundertwasserhaus and the Kunsthaus, both designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser. His markedly unique (and maybe a little bit strange) style and approach to arts contrasts very well with the baroque palace. After dinner we wanted to go to the open-air theatre in Kőszeg. However, as soon as we got out of the bus, a huge storm started and our hopes of seeing Don Quijote were washed away as much as the town centre was. We took shelter in the bus and went back to the hotel.

6.day – 08.01. – The last day

There is no doubt that the programme of the sixth day was the most popular among us. Even the name of the Zotter Chocolate Theatre and Zoo made us curious. We were told step by step how a cocoa bean becomes a bar of chocolate. The owner, Josepf Zotter, is one of the best chocolatemaker. We could taste thousand types of chocolates like fish, chili, bacon etc. After the factory visitation we had the chance to enter the animal garden which was an incredible experience. The day ended with some arts and crafts and with a common icecream consumption.
