Advent Family Day in Jászberény
On Friday afternoon, December 6, 2024, we gathered at the Jászberény Community House after school. Fridays are usually project days for us, but this time, instead of analyzing water samples or working on projects, we celebrated our Advent Family Day. All four groups—young and old alike—came together to celebrate.
We made decorations, brewed tea, and set out cookies and fruit on the tables. Gradually, the parents arrived, bringing younger siblings who joined in making felt figurines or folding Christmas ornaments. Board games were brought out, and even a few foosball champions emerged. Meanwhile, rehearsals for the holiday performance began, which was presented at 5:00 PM. The audience enjoyed dance performances and applauded the youngest members for their musical and poetic presentations. The evening ended with a singalong.
We are very grateful for the yearbook, the food packages, and the shopping vouchers!

Before the Advent program, all participants had the opportunity to craft Christmas felt figurines, such as Santas and little elves, with the help of family members. Our volunteer, Katalin Fülöpné Paksi, provided great assistance. Together, we looked through this year’s yearbook, which brought back many beautiful memories.
After a dress rehearsal, everyone took their seats. During the program, some recited poems, others sang, and even danced. As a highlight of the evening, the Grinch made a surprise appearance, handing out Christmas candies to everyone. At the end of the celebration, our group exchanged gifts as part of a Secret Santa. Everyone eagerly unwrapped their surprises.
Thank you for the support this year and for the many wonderful memories we’ve created together through the Foundation!
