A Long weekend at the Szentes Community House
As the year draws to a close, the implementation of the Guidance Festival’s enriching program, titled “I Am Who I Am” with the theme “Change”, took place. The small team decided on a movie night, so on Friday evening, we headed to the Kultik Cinema to watch a cheerful Hungarian film.
Saturday began early at 8 AM with drama teacher Ibolya Csapiné Matos . The morning started with games focused on improving concentration and group dynamics. We continued building on the personality development exercises from the previous session with entertaining rule-based games. The rest of the morning was spent on reading comprehension and text creation activities. The task involved analyzing two maps: extracting shared and individual information from them, forming sentences as part of text creation, and finally producing a complete description of the maps.
During these shared days, we prepare our own meals with the help of our mentor. Using a pre-planned menu and ingredients purchased by our mentor, we started cooking during breaks between sessions. As Christmas approaches, baking gingerbread cookies, setting up a Christmas tree, and creating door decorations are essential activities. Everyone found joy and success in the tasks they felt most connected to.
The weekend continued on Sunday evening when we set off together from the Community House to the magnificent Tóth József Theater and Cultural Hall. There, we watched The Money of God, a musical by Péter Müller, Péter Sziámi Müller, and László Tolcsvay, based on Charles Dickens’ novel A Christmas Carol.
We are grateful for the meaningful time spent together!
