Book Club, Road Safety, and Balaton Project in Kaposvár
A Book Club has started in Group 1 in Kaposvár, with its first session held on November 9, led by junior mentors Zsófia Kada and Zsófia Trixler.
“Our first book was The Magician’s Nephew by C.S. Lewis, the first volume in The Chronicles of Narnia. It was an interesting choice since it hasn’t been adapted into a movie and can be considered a prequel to the main story. We discussed why each of us did or didn’t enjoy the book and which characters, if any, resonated with us. The story sparked a lively discussion, and we even found some parallels with the modern world. We agreed on the next book selection, hoping to establish a lasting tradition with our Book Club.
Later that morning, I gave a presentation on cycling safety, a relevant topic in Kaposvár given the increasing number of bike paths and the availability of electric bike rentals. The children were enthusiastic, and we had an engaging discussion, which ended with a fun yet informative quiz.
The work didn’t stop there. During a reading comprehension session, the children wrote a script as part of the Balaton Project, with us university students also lending a hand.”
