CSÁSZ CUP
Most of Thursday was spent travelling, and when we arrived at the hostel, our hosts Melinda and Éva were waiting for us with a warm dinner. After the long journey, we enjoyed the Székelykáposzta and after a little chat we went to bed. Friday was the main part of our trip, where we competed in the CSÁSZ Cup, with teams from many parts of Transylvania. It was also great to see some familiar faces, who we had played against at the Életút Festival. We won our first two matches, so basically our last match was equal to a final. Unfortunately, we started very badly, with many mistakes, so the opponent quickly pulled away by 3 goals. Luckily we got our heads together and came back to within one goal, but unfortunately we couldn’t get the equalizer. We finished second, which in hindsight we are very happy about, but first place was our team’s goal and we were very close to it. We would like to thank our mentors and mentor assistants for their hard work and coaching, which meant a lot to us. We also thank András Pivo, who we met during our many visits to Transylvania and at the Életút Festival. He was kind enough to join our team at the tournament. After the cup, we had a friendly match against our mentors and mentor assistants. On Saturday, we went on a full-day excursion. The first stop of our trip was at Nyergestető, where we commemorated the heroic deaths of our Transylvanian Hungarians, and where our mentor András Gál told us about the history of the place. Our next stop was the Székely Museum in Sfântu Gheorghe, where we could further deepen our knowledge about Székely traditions, Our last stop was in Tusnádfürdő, where we ended our week with a rest in the local thermal spa. In the last evening we said our goodbyes to our hosts.
