Our First Project Day at the Community House
After Saturday’s drama classes, members of Szeged Groups 1 and 2 began working on their joint projects in two teams. This year, the theme of our Community House project is The City of the Future, and within this framework, the students participated in the first sessions of the sub-projects: Innovations in Football and Chess and Nature Explorer.
As part of Innovations in Football and Chess, the focus was mainly on technological advancements. The students selected key topics such as ground coverings and tracking systems. The most interest was sparked by the latest turf coverings, with the students producing grass bricks from various seed mixtures on different substrates. They also plan to develop new types of hybrid field coverings.
The realization of these multifaceted, innovative ideas will form the core of the content for the upcoming project sessions.

During the first session of the Nature Explorer Club this year, we introduced the students selected for our Community House to the parts and use of microscopes. Everyone prepared their first specimen slide, and together, we made agar-agar nutrient medium, onto which we inoculated algae species from our research lab for further observation.
At our next session, we will explore algae isolation techniques and the preparation of plant tissue samples.
