Local history project in Jászberény
This afternoon, a new local history project started in the Jászberény Community Hall. We were excitedly waiting for the first opportunity, because we did not know what our mentor, aunt Dorina, was preparing for us. 6th grade and 10th grade students applied to the project group, and joint work began with a group of 7 people.
For the first time, we explored the topic of the Jászkürt from different points of view. We got to know the Lehel proverb, which Eszter Oláh (J4) read to the group. Aunt Dorina presented the research results related to the horn, from which we learned about the origin and creation of the horn, as well as the traditions associated with it over the centuries. As part of a game, we took a selfie with a carved Jaszkürt motif made 293 years ago, which can be found on the original piece of our Community House. Thanks to the collection of the Jászok Egyesület, we were even able to hear the sound of the Lehel horn, because it was recorded by Magyar Rádió in 1953. We had an exciting and interesting project session, which we will continue with individual research work. (Lili Boglárka Burkus, Jászság group 4)
