Car-Free Day in Jászberény
As part of the European Mobility Week’s urban program series, Car-Free Day was held in Jászberény on Sunday. Students from all four groups of the Jászsági Community House participated with great enthusiasm as volunteers for the day.
Alongside major institutions like the Red Cross, the Police, and local organizations, the Foundation also had the opportunity to showcase the work of the Jász-Stones team, Lego robotics, and VUK Innovation at a stand. The young volunteers gave presentations and reports on their successes in Australia to interested visitors.
At the Kids’ Island stand, participants could try their hand at felting and linocut printing in the Foundation’s craft workshop, catering to both children and adults. With the help of members from the art project, they created felt bracelets adorned with bicycle pendants, which were very popular among the kids. The pre-cut cheerful patterns could be used to decorate canvas bags, adding a fun element to the activity.
The residents of the city were surprised by how motivated and skilled the children were at the Foundation’s stands, showering them with praise and wishing them further success.
