School Year Begins in Szentes
At our first September meeting, we joyfully reunited at the community house. The new school year is a major milestone for the supported students in Szentes—not only because of the continuation of our project, but also due to the challenges now faced by those who have entered high school. On September 6, 2024, during the year-opening parent meeting of our groups, we discussed our key tasks, optimal goals, and how to schedule their completion.
Our goal for 2024 is to help most of the children take a language exam and complete the next ICDL module exam, then progress toward a higher level and the next module. We continue to expect a large number of students to participate in the Foundation’s Language Competition and take on more serious responsibilities, appropriate for their age—perhaps even getting a taste of “junior mentoring.”
Families were introduced to our activity plan, which was designed to ensure that in addition to group sessions, personalized support would also be available for the students, who are now pursuing a wide range of studies. As the children grow older, their summers are increasingly busy, so we also shared the planned dates for our camps.
We are excited to dive into the new school year, which promises a lot of hard work but also the hope of tangible results for all of us.
